Arrival
Students are not allowed on campus before 6:55 due to required staff supervision. Parents bringing students to school will drop off students at the north side entry.
Please do not drop your child off in front of the school.
If a student arrives at Morehouse Magnet School after school has begun, the parent must sign him or her in at the office, and he or she will be marked tardy.
Students who are dropped off in front of the school without a parent signing them in will be given a warning, with the next occurrence resulting in a minor infraction.
Departure
Students are dismissed at 2:45 PM and 1:00 PM on Tuesdays.
Changes to the child's method of transportation must be done IN PERSON by 12:00 PM and 10:00 AM on Tuesdays.
Morning Drop-Off
Our morning drop-off procedures are designed to keep all students safe while maintaining an efficient traffic flow. Please review and follow these guidelines:
Doors open at 6:50 AM and close promptly at 7:15 AM. After 7:15 AM, parents must park, walk their child inside, and sign them in at the front office. Parents are not permitted to walk their children to their classrooms; this helps foster independence and keeps our hallways safe and secure.
There are 5 duty teachers stationed outside each morning: 3 on the inside line and 2 on the outside line. If you are in the inside line, do not stop under the awning unless there is a vehicle directly in front of you. If you are the first car to pull through the outside line, do not drive toward a duty teacher on the inside line.
Before your vehicle reaches the duty teacher, please ensure your child's backpack is zipped and ready to go, their car seat is unfastened (if applicable), and the child is prepared to exit promptly on the passenger side. Being ready helps keep the line moving for everyone.

Rainy Day Drop-Off
On mornings with excessive rain, all car riders will be directed into one single line that goes under the awning for student drop-ff. Please follow staff directions and be patient—this process keeps students dry and safe while still maintaining an orderly drop-off.
Student Pickup
To ensure student safety, parents transporting their children to and from Morehouse Magnet School MUST enter only from FAIRFIELD AVENUE. This helps keep traffic flowing in one direction and prevents dangerous situations caused by cutting through the line of cars. Afternoon pickup will have 2 lanes, but once these two lanes are full inside the parking lot, cars can only line up single file on Fairfield Avenue.
Exit through LARCHE LANE PAST THE SCHOOL. Cars may only leave the school by continuing down Larche Lane. Do not attempt to enter the line from Larche Lane on either side--this puts drivers, students, and staff at risk by disrupting the established traffic flow.
STAY IN LINE. DO NOT DRIVE OVER CONES OR CUT IN. Driving over the cones or cutting into the line can cause confusion, slow down dismissal, and increase the chance of accidents. All car riders must be picked up no later than 3:00 PM, 1:15 PM on Tuesdays. Running over or moving the Homeland Security issued orange cones can result in costly traffic fines.
KEEP YOUR CAR RIDER TAG VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES. Your car rider tag, with your child/children's name, must remain visible from the moment you enter the line until your child is safely in your car. This helps staff quickly match students to vehicles and keeps the line moving.
Please respect each parent and student by showing responsible and respectful behavior in the car rider line.
